IGP takes notice of one-wheeling, underage driving

KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal taking notice of the news about misuse of police mobiles has ordered I.G. Sindh A. D. Khawaja to investigate the matter and take strict action against the culprits. According to media reports a large number of police officials were seen using the police mobiles for their personal use carrying families to public parks and restaurants. The Minister said that official vehicles cannot be used for personal entertainment. Such use is illegal and a criminal offence, hence, there should be no tolerance in this regard. Mean-while IGP Sindh AD Khawaja yesterday issued instructions to traffic police to stop motorcycle one-wheeling and underage driving, which are considered as main factors behind deadly accidents. He asked them to take action against the offenders on every level, says a statement issued by Director Press, CPO. According to the spokesperson, IGP took notice of the media reports about underage driving and one-wheeling. He issued instructions to the district level SSPs to run an awareness drive about one-wheeling and underage driving at schools, colleges, universities and public places and inform parents that these dangerous practices can results in the loss of life and property. He was hopeful of curbing the dangerous trend in collaboration with community.
