FOUR TERRORISTS KILLED
RAWALPINDI: The security forces killed four terrorists in an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in North Waziristan while three army personnel were also martyred during the retaliation yesterday, military media wing ISPR said in a statement.
According to ISPR, “Four terrorists were killed while a cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered,” adding that the dead terrorists were involved in an ambush on security forces in last December in which lieutenant Moeen had embraced martyrdom. The operational level terrorist Aftab Paraky was also among the killed terrorists, ISPR stated.
“Three security personnel- Naib Subedar Nazeer Ahmed Chandeo, sepoy Fakhar and sepoy Amir- were martyred in retaliation,” ISPR said.
ISPR mentioned that the area has been cleared after the operation. In February 2017, Pakistan Army had launched a counter-terror operation named Radd-ul-Fasaad’ across the country and hundreds of militants have surrendered and several were killed after the operation was initiated.
The operation was aimed at indiscriminately eliminating residual and latent threat of terrorism, consolidating gains of operations made thus far and further ensuring the security of the borders.–Agencies
