Shoddy job by NAB in references against Sharifs, Dar
ACCOUNTABILITY COURT RETURNS TWO REFERENCES
From Our Correspondent
ISLAMABAD: The accountability court returned another corruption reference against the Sharif family and the one against Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) yesterday, citing technical errors as the reason. The court registrar directed NAB to re-file the references after removing the errors. The court has given the registrar’s office until September 14 to completely scrutinise the documents and submit them for hearing. On Monday, the registrar had returned two references with regard to the Sharif family’s flats in a posh London neighborhood and Flagship Investments. Whereas yesterday, he returned the third reference pertaining to the ruling family’s Al-Azizia Steel Mill. The court’s registrar reportedly objected that he could not find the documents mentioned in the index of the references. Sources said many pages of the references do not have page numbers mentioned and some of them have the wrong number printed. Moreover, some documents are extra and some necessary documents were not attached. He also returned the reference against Finance Minister Ishaq Dar with direction to remove the errors highlighted by him and then file it along with others afresh.
