PRGMEA for ‘Made in Pakistan’ exhibition in Dubai

SIALKOT:Chief Coordinator, Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) Ijaz A Khokhar has said that Pakistan should hold a ‘Made in Pakistan’ exhibition in Dubai like other countries. Talking to media here yesterday, he said that goods produced in Pakistan should be showcased at the special event. It will not only attract businessmen belonging to different countries but also help Pakistani businessmen to develop business-to-business (B2B) contacts with their counterparts, he added. Ijaz said that such events were playing vital role not only in expanding trade but also developing business contacts. Holding of trade fairs and exhibitions were meant to enable businessmen to showcase the products of their respective countries to attract buyers, he said. In order to capture traditional and non-traditional markets, the government should focus on formulation of aggressive marketing policy by taking on board private sector for enhancing exports of the country, he suggested. He underscored the need for setting up “Business Promotional Board at Sialkot for finding out ways and means for the growth of different industrial sectors including sports goods, surgical instruments, handmade badges, leather garments, musical instruments, gloves and sports wears sectors of Sialkot, he said. Ijaz suggested that the federal government should concentrate on establishing “Regional Task Forces” for promotion of different industrial sectors and bringing out the industry out of crisis. These task forces should be established by the federal government by taking on board the private sector stakeholders of the respective industries, he added.–Agencies
