Sindh police is our baby, we cannot question them: Home minister
KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal has said that the provincial police force is like a child that they have nurtured and pampered, but cannot question.
Speaking to the media persons in the city yesterday, Siyal spoke about the issue relating to the removal of the provincial inspector general, saying they have written to the federal government regarding the matter but not yet received any response.
Moreover, Siyal said IG Sindh has not been deprived of any authority and that the Sindh High Court did not show the whole picture of the entire matter.
The minister further said he did not have the authority for transfers of police official and the Sindh government was implementing all orders sent by the court. When asked about the knife attacks in Karachi, Siyal said the police did not book any innocent person in the cases.
A few days back, the anti-terrorism court granted bail to Shahzad, who was arrested on suspicion of carrying out the knife attacks in the city.
However, police told the court no evidence was found against the arrested suspect. About street crime in Karachi, Siyal said effective measures were being planned to rid the city of the menace. -Agencies
