Nation marks 1st death anniversary of Junaid Jamshed today

KARACHI: An exorbitant followership of singer turned celebrant Junaid Jamshed marks the first anniversary of his death today by recalling to his ever popular songs, Naats and religious speeches and bayans.
It is important to mention that on December 7, last year, an unfortunate incident of plane crash in Havelian resulted in the death of Junaid Jamshed including 48 other passengers on board.
The 52 years old preacher, who left behind his music career, was returning from Chitral from a religious trip along with his wife when the plane crashed in the mountainous region of Hazara division. It is known to all and sundry that Jamshed had launched his music career with the music band named ‘Vital Signs’ and became the most popular singer of his time in the country .
The music band ‘Vital Sign’ became instantaneously popular with Junaid’s composition of ‘Dil Dil Pakistan in 1987’. The national song is also considered to be the country’s second national anthem as well. Being known to the world at large as a vocalist of the Vital Sign, Junaid had launched four successful albums and undoubtedly made a greater place in the area of solo singing.
However, Junaid completely took the decision to quit the career of music forever with a view to start a ‘spiritual voyage’ in 2002 under the guidance of an eminent religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel. Subsequently, from 2002, Junaid sincerely dedicated his all life to Islam and became a famous Naat Khawan as well.
Moreover, he also hosted Ramzan transmissions on a known TV channel. Whereas, he was bestowed with the Pride of Performance award in 2007 and also ranked ‘500’ in the list of 2014 influential Muslim figures of the globe.
