Power outages intensify water crisis

KARACHI: The Karachiites are badly irked as scarcity of water intensified in the metropolis after the loadshedding interrupted the supply. Sources told that the electricity loadshedding at Dhabeji station had defected one pump due to which dearth of 35 million gallon water had emerged. The residents of Shah Faisal Colony, Azeempura, Punjab Town, Green Town and other adjoining areas had arrived at water pumping station and started filling water from the tank. The locals had urged the authorities to take action into the matter so that they could get access to clean drinking water. They also demanded the government to take action against the K-Electric management for not providing uninterrupted electricity to the water pumping stations.
