Party workers being pressurized to change loyalty: Farooq Sattar
By Staff Reporter
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Chief Farooq Sattar yesterday alleged that his party workers were being pressurized and threatened to change their loyalties. Talking to media persons here, Sattar dispelled an impression that party workers were switching their allegiance due to an internal conflict within the party. “MQM Pakistan has unity among its ranks,” he reiterated. He said that all focus is being paid to small number of workers who have recently abandoned his party while claiming that a large number of people have also joined MQM-P in the meantime. Appearing satisfied with Mayor Karachi’s performance, Sattar said that the city mayor has been serving best despite lack of funds and support. “The local government has limited power to address the civic issues timely,” he lamented. Sattar said that funds worth Rs14 billion were issued during 2016-17 but only Rs4 billion were used in the development projects.
