‘Naval exercise to help counter marine terrorism’

VISITING MARITIME DELEGATES CALL ON SINDH GOVERNOR

KARACHI: The foreign delegates attending the Multinational Naval Exercise-AMAN-2017 called on Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair at the Governor House here yesterday. The Governor welcomed the delegates and stated that gathering of naval forces from the East and the West on a single platform augured well and helped the participating countries to learn from one another’s experiences. Muhammad Zubair was of the view that the Naval Exercise would help formulate effective strategy against the dangers of marine terrorism, piracy and smuggling. He said that narcotics smuggling and other problems in the open sea pose dangers to international community and to overcome these there is need for a comprehensive and effective strategy. He pointed out that Pakistan Navy is among the best navies of the world and deserve commendation for organizing the AMAN 2017. Welcoming the foreign delegates, the Governor said that their visit would also help dispel negative impression about Pakistan. He also highlighted the role of Pakistan as a front line state against terrorism and said that the international community also appreciates this. The delegates lauded the professional expertise and Pakistan Navy and appreciated its steps for the AMAN 2017.
