‘Improving academic standard vital for economic development’

KARACHI: Increase in enrollment and improving the academic standard is vital for achieving economic development at a faster pace. This was stressed by the Sindh Governor, Muhammad Zubair, during a visit to S.M. Fatima Jinnah Government School here yesterday. He also went round the classrooms, library, computer lab and play ground. The Vice-Chancellor of NED University of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Dr. Sarosh Lodi, CEO of the School Brig. (Retd Abdul Haq, and singer Shahzad Roy were also present on the occasion. The Governor appreciated the academic system of the school as well as the method of teaching. He was of the view that the non-government organizations (NGOs) were performing well for the cause of education in the province especially in the backward areas. Zubair said that on the occasion of the international day of girls, there is a need to vow to impart education to the females. He also lauded the role of Shahzad Roy in the realms of public service.
