‘Govt taking steps to protect basic rights of every citizen’

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Mohammed Zubair has said the federal government is taking measures to protect basic rights of every citizen on a priority basis. The governor said this during a meeting with Federal Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael and former Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa chief minister Pir Sabir Shah at the Governor House, a statement issued yesterday said. Mohammad Zubair said, “the federal government is taking effective measures to ensure protection of basic rights to every citizen in the country and the role of Human Rights ministry to this effect is appreciable. Mohammad Zubair appreciated the efforts by minority communities in health, education, trade and other fields. Federal Minister Kamran Michael briefed the governor about the performance and projects of his ministry. While former chief minister Pir Sabir Shah apprised him of various projects being undertaken by the federal government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
