Art competition to be held to mark Independence Day

KARACHI: An art competition among the students of public and private schools from class sixth to class tenth will be held in reference to Independence Day and the students across the Sindh will participate in this competition This was decided in a meeting held here yesterday in Sindh Secretariat, chaired by education minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar. The minister education said that competition was being arranged on the directive Sindh Chief Minister. A live competition among competing students would be conducted in Arts Council of Pakistan on August 13 to make it a transparent competition. Dahar added, “First, second and third winners of the final competition will get one lakh, fifty thousands and twenty five thousands rupees as cash prize and appreciation letters respectively and CM Sindh will pay the amount from his own pocket.” He also told the meeting that Arts Council of Pakistan would form a jury comprised of artists of international reputation to decide the final winners while participants of final competition would also be rewarded with certain cash prizes and appreciation letters.
