Alleged extortionist sent on physical remand

KARACHI: The Administrative Judge of Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on yesterday handed Dilawar Khan over to the police on physical remand, allegedly accused for Rs500 as extortion daily from each greengrocer at Kala Pul area. The defense Police presented the accused before ATC to get his physical remand. The investigating officer informed the court that the suspect was arrested red handed when he reached to collect the extortion amount. The Investigating Officer (IO) also informed the court that the suspect had been taking extortion for the last four months form the complainant who reported the matter. The police added that the suspect was arrested on 10th October 2016 when police nabbed him red handed. The police claimed to have recovered Rs.7,500 extortion money from the possession of the accused. —PPI
