Nawaz Sharif moves IHC against NAB court ruling

From Wasim Kambo

ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Tuesday moved Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the Accountability Court’s orders to club together three corruption references filed against him. Nawaz Sharif’s counsel Azam Tarar challenged Accountability Court’s order with an application and requested the court to annul the decision arguing it was given in haste without taking into consideration the IHC’s detailed verdict on his client’s plea. The Sharif’s counsel prayed to the court to fix the application for hearing today. Earlier, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) requested the court to club together three corruption references filed against the former Prime Minister in the light of Supreme Court verdict in Panama Papers case. The IHC had earlier asked the accountability court to review Nawaz Sharif’s application. The application said the NAB court did not review proposals given by the Islamabad High Court earlier and took decision in haste hence it should be dismissed. On November 8, the accountability court rejected the plea of clubbing all three references into one, filed by Nawaz Sharif and his sons, Hassan and Hussain Nawaz.
