KATI slammed K-Electric tariff increase

Karachi: President of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) Tariq Malik, Senior Vice President Salman Aslam and Vice President Junaid Naqi slammed the increase in K-Electric tariff and demanded to take back this decision. In a statement received yesterday, President Tariq Malik said that business and industrialist community of Karachi already have engraved reservations on K-Electric tariff, despite this 75 paisa increase in tariff is unacceptable for industrial, commercial and domestic consumer. He noted that Business community already told NEPRA about its concerns over K-Electric Tariff but this went unheard by the authority. He said that industry in Karachi already facing the burden of high cost of production and doing business, the current increase in the tariff will effect more bitterly on the situation. The industrial and domestic consumer were deprived from the relief in energy tariffs on many occasions in past. President KATI appealed to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to take immediate notice of this decision and to make orders to revert this decision.–PR
