PPP, PTI ready to back Tahir ul Qadri: Kaira
LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said today that no politics is being done on the Model Town incident. Talking to media, he reiterated that both PPP and PTI will back Tahirul Qadri if he decides to take on the streets.
Kaira insisted that the martyrs of Model Town incident should receive justice as per law. However; he asserted that no third power will be allowed to derail democracy. Criticizing Nawaz Sharif, Kaira said that Iceland premier resigned without any question but the former PM is still asking the reason behind his ouster.
He was of the view that the matter of delimitation of constituencies should be discussed in Council of Common Interests (CCI). The PPP leader told that his party is preparing for next elections of which the rallies are a part.
Speaking in favour of the KP-FATA merger, he pronounced that the people of FATA should get constitutional and legal rights. Kaira slammed the government for withdrawing the bill in the pressure of allies. He hoped that justice will be served in Imran Khan disqualification case. -Agencies
