NAB to reply on exclusion of Dr.Asim’s name from ECL: SC
KARACHI: Supreme Court (SC) today requested a response from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) related to the removal of President, Pakistan People’s Party, Karachi division, Dr Asim Hussain’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
According to details, Dr Asim’s lawyer, Sardar Latif Khosa, at the time of presenting clarifications in view of the removal of his client’s name from the ECL, maintained his stance that Dr Asim’s medical treatment is continuing further.
Khosa told the two-judge bench headed by Justice Musheer Alam that his client Dr.Asim had to leave Pakistan on Nov 9, but his flight has now been scheduled to depart on Nov 21.
Moreover, the lawyer observed that the court had earlier granted Dr Asim permission to go abroad for treatment and he returned after treatment in total accordance with the court order. As he appeared to be healthy, the court ordered his name be put on the ECL again, Khosa said.
The court accepted the lawyer’s request that the case be heard again on Thursday and issued a notice to NAB asking the accountability body to provide a response regarding Dr Asim’s request by Nov 16. -Agencies
