KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement- Pakistan (MQM-P) has pledged support for the PPP candidate Murtaza Wahab in the Senate election after a meeting took place between leaders from both parties here yesterday. Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) delegation consisting of four members, led by Nisar Khuhro arrived at MQM-P’s temporary headquarter located in Bahadurabad. The delegation also included Murtaza Wahab, Nasir Hussain Shah and Dr Asim. Addressing the media, PPP leader Nisar Khuhro said that he has taken the initiative in order to establish communication for peaceful political dialogue. He said that the delegation asked MQM to provide support for PPP candidate in the upcoming Senate election on August 17. MQM leader Kunwar Naveed Jamil announced that MQM will support the PPP candidate in the Senate election. The MQM leader said that his party has intimated the PPP delegation regarding their political situation, informing them regarding their concern of uncalled arrests, issues of disgruntled members and local authority. Both the parties were parted ways in the Sindh and National Assemblies after difference erupted between them on various issues.
