Former ANP MPA shot dead

PESHAWAR: Former MPA Haji Shoaib Khan of Awami National Party (ANP) was shot dead on Sunday by unknown attackers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s town of Yar Hussain in Swabi district. District Police Office (DPO) Javed Iqbal told Dawn that some gunmen entered Khan’s political office and opened fire at the former MPA. Khan, who sustained multiple wounds, was rushed to Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his wounds. “Apparently it was a target killing,” DPO Iqbal said, adding, “We have registered a First Information Report and launched raids to nab the attackers.”
