ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah has said that whoever talks in favour of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder would be regarded as anti-Pakistan.
However, he clarified that he was not in favour of MQM being banned in Pakistan as it would create further issues.
“We are not in favour of banning MQM. Party has the mandate of the people and it has also disassociated itself from its founder”, said the opposition leader talking to media in Islamabad.
“MQM should be given time, in six months everything would be cleared”, he added.
He said that banning MQM would not be a wise move and would not be in favour of the country.
Khursheed Shah said that the government was deceiving the people about petroleum prices.
“Additional Rs100bn in a year were charged from consumers through petroleum products”, he said.
He said that Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had recommended a decrease in petroleum tariffs but the government raised the tax from 17pc to 20pc.
